Calling all crafters! Come to Huntingdon Hall to craft towards better mental health

  • Huntington Hall Worcester Crowngate, Worcester WR1 2ES Worcestershire (map)

Huntingdon Hall Bar is opening its doors on Saturday 20th July for national Crafternoon day. Crafters and their families are invited to craft the afternoon away and raise money for mental health charity Mind.

Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. Mind are there to provide support and advice for those who suffer with their mental health, and also campaign to improve facilities, raise awareness and remove the stigma so no one has to suffer in silence. Acting Chief Executive of Worcester Live, Sarah-Jane Morgan said: “The Crafternoon is the perfect event for Worcester Live to be involved in. Many of the staff here are crafters and wanted to support Mind in their campaign. Offering the chance for craft lovers in the community, to come together in a social setting, to raise money for such an important charity.”

Everyone is welcome to come along to the Huntingdon Hall Bar from 2pm; there is no entry fee, just bring along any crafting you fancy, knitting, card making, needlework, paper cutting, decoupage, something that gets the creative juices flowing! Children are also welcome, with special crafting activities provided for them, including pebble painting, paper windmill creating and tons of colouring in fun!

The afternoon will include a special raffle with all the money collected going to Mind. The raffle will be drawn at 3.50pm on the 20th and the lucky winner will receive a fabulous Swan Theatre pantomime package that includes 4 tickets to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (date specific), a programme, 4 ice creams and a large bag of sweets to enjoy whilst you’re there!

What could be better than nattering and crafting together for a good cause? Well we shall sweeten the deal with homemade cakes, yummy treats and refreshments on sale for the afternoon, with all proceeds going to Mind also.

So come along, pick up those knitting needles, paint brushes and spare change and provide someone with peace of Mind.
