Free event will showcase services for Older People

 A free event has been organised by Malvern Hills District Council and Worcestershire County Council to showcase vital services available to older people, family, friends and carers. 
 
The event takes place on Monday 10 October, from 11am to 2pm at The Regal Theatre in Tenbury Wells where guests will be offered free refreshments. There will also be the opportunity to take part in a free Strength and Balance taster class and   for anyone aged between 40 to 74-years-old to have a free health check.
 
A wealth of knowledge, support and information will be available to residents to help them ‘age well' and live independently in their own home for longer.
 
The theme of the event will be dementia awareness, with a free dementia friends session running from 2pm to 3pm, to help raise awareness of how people living with dementia can be supported.
 
Cllr Phil Grove, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council, said: "As part of our commitment to improve people’s health and well-being, we are keen to raise awareness and understanding of the great services on offer for older people in the district. With more than 20 organisations exhibiting, it’s going to be a great event for local residents to enjoy”
