Branch out Into New Ground at Plant Swap

Gardeners and allotment holders can turn over a new leaf by swapping their spare seedlings at a Plant Swap in Worcester.

The free event is being organised by Transition Worcester and Worcester City Council and is a perfect opportunity for people to exchange surplus young plants for something different in preparation for the growing season and entering produce in the annual Worcester Show.

The Plant Swap takes place on Saturday 6 May at the Old North Stables Teaching Garden, Pitchcroft, Worcester WR1 3JP, from 11.00am to 3.00pm.

Green-fingered enthusiasts can bring along any extra fruit and vegetable plants, herbs or salads and swap them for something they haven’t grown before.

Members of Transition Worcester and the City Council's Park Warden Team will also be on hand to answer questions and offer advice about gardening, plants and composting.

Michelle Newell, Community Engagement Supervisor at Worcester City Council said: “This is a great way to get new plants which have already started growing and to get some expert advice on planting, growing and presenting produce for the flower show.”

The event is open to anyone interested in plants – from old hands to beginners and allotment holders to window box gardeners.

The event is free of charge.  The closest free parking is at the Waterworks Road Car Park, next to the Pump House Environment Centre, WR1 3EZ.
