‘Bubblers’ Needed for World’s Foamiest Fun Run

he world’s foamiest fun run is coming to Worcester and organisers are calling on people to sign-up and raise vital funds for local children.

The Acorns Bubble Rush at Worcester Racecourse on 30 June will see hundreds of bubblers’ (otherwise known as participants) make their way around a 5km course through reams of multicoloured bubbles.

The fun-filled family event is being held to raise vital funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice and the charity’s care for children and support for their families across Worcestershire and the Three Counties.

Phillippa Weatherhead, Senior Events Officer at Acorns, urged people to avoid disappointment and sign-up quickly. She said “Bubble Rush is sure to make this summer one to remember and we can’t wait to bring this spectacular event to Worcester. It’s hugely popular, so I’d encourage people to move quickly if you want to secure your place!”

The event will feature merchandise and accessory stalls, free Bubble Rush t-shirt and finish line medal. All participants will also be given an exclusive £10 off entry to Worcester music festival Popfest which takes place at Blackfinch New Road on the same day.

Phillippa continued: “The Bubble Rush is not only the best fun you’ll probably have all summer, but every penny raised will make a real difference to the children and families we support. It costs Acorns nearly £10 million every year to run our services so events like Bubble Rush are vital to help us continue our work.”

This year Acorns is introducing a ‘Star Bubbler’ scheme, offering anyone participant who raises £100 or more in sponsorship a limited edition t-shirt and goodie bag. All Star Bubblers will be entered into a prize draw to win the chance to meet a celebrity and gain free entry in Popfest.

In the past year Acorns has provided care to more than 870 children and over 1,090 families, including those who are bereaved.
