LOCAL FIRMS JOIN FORCES TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF LEFT-HANDED CHILDREN
Worcestershire based software developer, Collate Systems, has joined forces with local retailer ‘Left ‘n Write’, in its campaign to help schools and educational establishments understand the importance of providing additional support to left-handed children UK wide.
With over 20 years’ experience in helping left-handed children with their development, Left’n Write is the country’s leading online retailer of left handed stationery equipment, including the creation of its own ‘Writewell’ mat and Left Hand Writing Skills set of books. All products are also sold at the shop in Wise Owl Toys, Charles Street, Worcester.
By joining forces, both firms aim to help schools understand the complexities in supporting the development of left-handed children to improve their educational outcomes, where Mark Stewart, Founder of ‘Left ‘n Write’ regularly visits schools to offer dedicated training for Teachers.
Collate Systems will be supporting the campaign through the use of its Collate Hub and Collate Loop software programmes: New cloud based systems that increase two-way communication between schools and parents.
Martyn Allan, Founder and Director of Collate Systems, confirmed: “I first met Mark when looking at ways in which I could support my own daughter with her development. As a left-handed child, I didn’t quite realise how difficult tasks like writing could be – particularly as they are governed through right-handed teaching.”
“Mark has since significantly improved my daughter’s technical writing capability amongst other things, and her school have now asked Mark to deliver teacher training to support the other children.”
Martyn continued: “As the Collate Hub and Collate Loop are platforms created specifically for schools, we will be working closely with Mark to increase awareness of the ’Left ‘n Write’ within educational establishments UK wide, in hope to improve outcomes for left-handed children across the country.”
Collate Systems will also be supporting the Left ‘n Write petition by hosting it on both websites and encouraging participants to show their support prior to submission to the House of Commons.
Mark added: “I am delighted to be joining forces with Martyn and the Collate Systems team. We have been working extremely hard to increase awareness of the ‘Left ‘n Write’ campaign, so it’s great to have additional on a local level and through the new Collate Hub and Collate Loop platforms.”
To be launched in summer 2018, the Collate Hub and Collate Loop are easy to use digital platforms that have been developed to specifically improve two-way communication between teachers and parents, whilst helping to improve educational outcomes for children nationwide.
