WIN PRIZES WITH GIRAFFE SELFIE SUMMER COMPETITION
As part of its sponsorship of the Worcester Stands Tall initiative in the city, social landlord Fortis Living is calling upon residents to think giraffe!
The housing association has launched an online competition, calling on local people to upload their selfies with one of the city’s giraffe sculptures – 30 8ft tall ones and 27 calves – to be in with a chance of winning high street vouchers totalling £100.
Participants in the Instagram competition - @FortisLiving – will need to #Fortisgiraffe.
Fortis Living – along with The Hopmarket Charity and Fisher German - have come together in support of the city’s Worcester Stands Tall initiative by funding an 8ft tall giraffe sculpture as part of the St Richard’s Hospice project.
The sculptures are currently standing tall through the city’s streets and open spaces until Sunday 16 September. They will then be auctioned to raise money for the hospice’s Build 2020 Appeal; this appeal aims to raise the funds needed to build a bigger hospice, enabling more families and patients to be cared for in Worcestershire.
Clare Jackson, Executive Director, Housing, Care and Communities said : “The Worcester Stands Tall initiative is such a great project to be involved with. Not only is it a fun and engaging way for the people of Worcestershire to enjoy the city, it will ultimately help provide a bigger and better hospice for both patients and their families. Community is at the very heart of what we do so it is a natural fit for us to be involved in the project
“We look forward to seeing all the wonderful giraffe selfies.”
Sara Matthews, Project Manager for Worcester Stands Tall said : “We’ve seen some great ‘gir-elfie’ selfies so far – so we can’t wait to see the pictures submitted for Fortis Living’s competition!
“We’re delighted to see so many of our fantastic sponsors engaging with the trail in a variety of different and creative ways. It’s great to see everyone having a giraffe for St Richard’s Hospice!”
The competition runs until Sunday 16 September; terms and conditions are available at https://www.fortisliving.com/having-a-giraffe.
The total cost for expanding and redeveloping the existing building in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, is £5.3m. For more information about Build 2020 visit www.strichards.org.uk/build2020.
