Malvern Jobs Fair hailed a huge success
More than 1000 job seekers attended the Malvern Jobs Fair hoping to snap up one of the hundreds of positions on offer.
The event, supported by Jobcentre Plus, Worcestershire County Council and Malvern Hills District Council, took place on Wednesday 14 September at Malvern Library.
The fair was attended by companies such as Marks and Spencer, English Braids, Halfords, Fortis Living, the Army, RAF, and many more.
Information was also on hand with advice on careers, apprenticeships, training options and for those starting up a business.
Cllr Phil Grove, Leader of Malvern Hills District Council said: “The event was the most successful one yet, and we are delighted that people are seeking work within the Malvern Hills District as it has so much to offer. It is really pleasing to hear such positive feedback from the many great employers that we have within the district”.
Claire Hindson, Mercia District Manager at Department for Work and Pensions said: “The event was fantastic with a buzzing atmosphere and I am really glad I was there on the day to see it. The feedback for the employers and partners that I spoke to was great”.
Brian Sawyer, Manufacturing Manager at English Braids said: “The fair was really successful and we were really pleased to attend. As a direct result of our participation in this event we made five appointments”.
