Students Earn £1,000 Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement
More than 170 students were rewarded for their achievements at the University throughout the 2015/16 academic year. Among them were Hannah Parry, 21, of Whitewood Way, Worcester, Sarah Wall, 26, from Whittington, and Ryan Norgrove, 22, from Martley.
They were presented with the scholarships by the University’s Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green, at a special ceremony.
Hannah, a former student of Worcester Sixth Form College, and who is now in the final year of a degree in Archaeology and Landscape Studies, said: “Receiving this award is a real encouragement after all the hard work over the past year. I am very grateful to all my lecturers, friends and family who have helped and supported me.”
Sarah, who is studying Education Studies, and also attended the City’s Sixth Form College, said: “I am so happy that I have been rewarded in this way. It has made all the hard work worthwhile and it’s a great feeling of achievement.”
Ryan, a former pupil at The Chantry, who is now in the final year of a degree in Physical Education and Sports Coaching Science, added: “Achieving a scholarship for a second time is brilliant. I am grateful to the University for acknowledging my dedication to my studies and career.”
University of Worcester Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green, said: “We are very proud of each and every student who earned an Academic Scholarship this year. I am delighted that 2016 proved to be an all-time record year, which is a true testament to the hard work and ability of the students and to the inspirational teaching of the University’s staff.

We are very grateful to all our benefactors whose generous support means so much to our students. We find that winning a scholarship further improves our students’ already excellent job prospects on graduation as well as providing welcome practical financial support.”
