Local pet store saved by major buy out deal

A major buy out deal has saved the local Just for Pets store, allowing pet owners to be at ease during the upcoming holiday season. The newly formed PST Trading Limited, which is owned by the business giant Pedigree Wholesale, has bought the business and 17 other locations across the country.

The move has saved the jobs of hundreds of employees, with almost 200 being based at the Just for Pets headquarters itself. Steve Brown, managing director of Pedigree Wholesale, said: “On hearing that the future of Just for Pets was under threat Pedigree Wholesale felt we could play a role in using our pet business expertise to secure a new future for Just for Pets in Stourbridge. “We know Just for Pets has a great reputation for offering outstanding customer service and has developed a loyal customer base so we are pleased that Pedigree Wholesale can now create a future for the business and the brand.

“The addition of Just for Pets to the Pedigree Wholesale family reinforces our commitment to investing and driving innovation within the pet sector which we believe will support the interests of all who care about maintaining a great choice of pet products for pet lovers.” The buyout guarantees the futures of many Just for Pets stores along with the Stourbridge location. Local pet owners can continue to enjoy the same brands, expert advice and products for their dogs, cats, small animals, reptile, fish, birds or wildlife at the store.
